She was a former member of the Oregon State Poetry Association and, in 1990, her book of poetry, "On Silent Wings Life's Moments Fly," was published. During their working years, they enjoyed traveling by RV each summer. She worked as a nurse's aide, clerk and waitress until her children were grown.
